Logging in for the first time
Logging in for first time
Step 1: Reset password
Once a UCCP System Administrator has created the user’s account, they can log into the system for the first time. The user must reset their password by clicking on the Forgot your ID or password hyperlink. Clicking on Forgot your ID or password brings up the reset password page. The user will need to enter their email address (highlighted in red below in LI-4) and the code from the image (in this case, 8JCY1), and click on Submit.
LI-4: Forgot Your Password
Step 2: Create New Password
The user will then receive an email prompting them to create a new password. Clicking on the link in the email will take them to the password reset screen (shown in IL-5). Follow the instructions on the screen to create a new password.
LI-5: Creating a New Password
UCCP PASSWORD GUIDELINES:
PCIC’s requirements for a new password are as follows:
Email address must not be part of the password.
Username must not be part of the password.
Contains at least:
one lowercase letter
one uppercase letter
one number
one special character (e.g. % or $ or &)
At least 12 characters in length
At least have a strong complexity.
NOTE:
If there is trouble coming up with a complex enough password, PCIC recommends using a password generator, or using a Password Management Service (such as Bitwarden), which can generate strong passwords as well as store passwords.
Step 3: Enter New Credentials
Once the password has been created, the computer will take the user to the login screen (see LI-6). The user can then input their username or email in the Username/Email field, and their newly created password in the Password field. They can check Remember me next time so that the system will remember their username/email.
LI-6: Login Screen
Step 4: Multi-Factor Authentication Code
Clicking on Log In will prompt the user to receive a multi-factor authentication (MFA) code via text on their cell phone (the last 4 digits of the phone number are indicated in the top right corner, as shown in the diagram below). The user will need to enter this code in the text box to proceed to the applicaton (see LI-7).
LI-7: Multi-Factor Authentication Code
If the UCCP System Administrator has not programmed the user’s cell phone number into their account, the first screen that will appear after clicking on Log In will prompt the user to register their phone number for multi-factor authentication (MFA), as shown below in LI-8.
LI-8: Multi-Factor Authentication Phone Number Registration
The phone number entered must be correct. For security reasons, the only way to change a phone number in the system is to contact a UCCP System Administrator.
Step 5: Select a Program
After the code has been entered successfully, the user will be logged into the UCCP system. The user will then have to select their organization and program from the drop-down lists, then press “Continue”, as shown in LI-9.
